As part of VIV Asia, the most renowned aquafeed trade fair in the Asian market, the Otey team set off on a new journey across some of the continent’s key countries for the aquafeed industry.
With over 1,000 exhibitors and nearly 50,000 visitors, the biannual fair held in Bangkok provided the Otey team with the opportunity to connect with some of Asia’s top players in the aquaculture industry. The event also served as a platform to explore cutting-edge technologies and trends set to shape the sector in the coming months. Amado Riquelme, Technical Advisor at Otey, shared his insights: “One of the aspects that caught my attention the most was the high level of experimentation to validate new ingredients in animal nutrition. Extensive validation studies were presented involving a large number of farms and animals, and all was backed by top-tier professionals. The participation of numerous PhD-level scientists also added credibility, reinforcing findings with solid data and high-standard scientific evidence.”
VIV Asia, held from March 12th to 14th, marked the starting point of a broader agenda, which also included visits to clients in Vietnam and Japan. Commenting on the experience, Otey’s Commercial Manager, Isaac Rosenblum, stated: “This is our second visit to Asia. We decided to return given the success of our experience last year, which led to export agreements with Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, and Bangladesh, among others. This year we included Vietnam as a destination due to its growing demand for Marine Oils from Chile, positioning it among the Top 5 importers of these products.” He further added, “It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with some of our existing clients, from whom we received valuable feedback. At the same time, we took the opportunity to introduce our new products, which generated great interest. We return a bit tired but with many tasks ahead so we are very excited to continue our expansion in this dynamic and fascinating continent.”
